The Art of Candle Care

A guide to preserving the beauty and longevity of your Liorah candle.

The First Burn

Burn until the wax pool reaches all edges (2–4 hours) on the very first use. This prevents tunneling and ensures an even, lasting burn throughout the life of your candle. Patience on the first burn is the greatest kindness you can offer it.

Trim the Wick

Before each burn, trim the wick to 1/4 inch and remove any debris from the wax pool. A well-trimmed wick produces a cleaner, steadier flame and prevents excess soot or mushrooming.

Burn Time

Never burn your candle for more than four hours at a time. Allow it to cool completely before relighting. This preserves the integrity of the wax and extends the life of your candle.

Safe Placement

Always place your candle on a stable, heat-resistant surface away from drafts, curtains, and flammable materials. Keep out of reach of children and pets at all times.

Safety First

Never leave a burning candle unattended. To extinguish, use a candle snuffer — never blow out the flame, as this can cause soot and scatter hot wax.

End of Candle Life

When approximately 1/2 inch of wax remains, discontinue use to protect the vessel from excessive heat. Allow the candle to cool completely before handling. Once finished, the vessel may be carefully cleaned and repurposed as a keepsake, catchall, or decorative accent.
